Michael O'Connor, C.E.T., has been named 2005 Technologist of the Year by the Alberta Society of Engineering Technologists (ASET).

O'Connor is co-owner of M&B Technical Testing Services Ltd., a Calgary firm that specializes in testing soils, concrete and asphalt for the civil engineering industry.

"Throughout his career in Alberta O'Connor has earned tremendous respect for his technical expertise, his practical approach to problem solving and his tremendous dedication to doing the job right. He's an excellent example of the professionalism that ASET members bring to the technical community and we're proud to honour him as our 2005 Technologist of the Year," ASET President Scott Turner, R.E.T., CCEP, said recently.

O'Connor will receive his award at the 2005 ASET Awards Banquet, to be held at the Delta Bow Valley Hotel on Saturday, March 19.
