BC Is Best In Canada At Creating Technology Value

Brent HolidayBrent Holliday, Greenstone Venture Partners

We have all heard the motherhood statements about BC's technology sector as compared to other regions in Canada: great technical talent, superb research and innovation, lower cost of operations and large, world renowned anchor companies. Greedy investors want to know only one thing: where are the exits? An 'exit' is an IPO or acquisition that allows liquidity for angel and VC investors. A good 'exit' is one that we all know about because the founders are building new homes on Drummond Drive or adding a skating rink to their Whistler home.

BC Social Venture Partners

We are very proud to announce that 28 Partners, members of their families and their employees helped support the Rajani family's effort to double the impact of their donation to the Canadian Red Cross in aid of Southeast Asia Emergency Relief.

We also heard from many Partners who had individually or in partnership with their employees, already contributed generously to the relief effort.

So far almost $30,000 has been contributed to match the $20,000 contribution of the Rajani family, making a total of almost $50,000 having been forwarded by BCT SVP to the Canadian Red Cross.

We are hopeful that the federal government will provide a direct match of this total to the Red Cross. Thank you all for having responded so generously and so quickly.
